It’s a busy week for website launches! I worked with Audrey a few years ago to create a custom WordPress blog, and I was super excited when she asked me to help with a new logo & brand. Audrey is incredibly talented and a total sweetheart, and I loved bringing her vision for her brand to life.
Audrey is a Virginia Wedding photographer with a light, airy style. This new brand inspired by her love of the South. It’s timeless, cozy yet sophisticated and focused on the clients she serves so well.
After working on her branding questionnaire, we decided to focus on using a Magnolia icon in her logo. Audrey and her husband just purchased a new home and a beautiful magnolia tree fills the window of her living room. White rocking chairs sit on the front porch, sheer curtains frame the window and her linen couch is warm and inviting. That single view from the room that centers her home and family was everything she wanted her brand to be. It’s classic, southern and timeless without being mason-jar rustic or cheesy.
In Audrey’s words:
When we moved into our new house back in May, I started to discover my style through decorating it. It was then that I discovered my love for neutral palettes and all things southern elegance! So when we started designing my new brand, I told her I wanted it to be southern, but not rustic. Southern plantation as opposed to rustic barn. Joanna Gaines without the farm and rustic aspect. And I particularly wanted magnolias to be a big part of the inspiration. You’ve probably noticed by now that the magnolia tree in our front yard inspired the decor for our house. From the fresh magnolia wreath over the fireplace in the living to the neutral southern decor throughout. So it was only natural that it also play a big role in my new brand. So Krista and I worked together to create a custom magnolia flower graphic that essentially serves at the mascot for my business. I love how it is delicate and simple and captures the southern essence of a magnolia flower.
In what must be one of the quickest brand launches ever (the entire branding process took just two weeks), this is the brand we created:
After the creation of her brand, Audrey used one of our soon-to-launch Palm Shop ShowIt5 customizable templates to update her WordPress blog and website. She is such a talented photographer and I love seeing the way she used the template to show off her Southern-inspired style! We even found fun ways to incorporate the alternate logo layouts and patterns that coordinate with her brand.
