Our websites have a new look! And yes, you read that right: websites. You can check out our reworked photography website at kristaajones.com.
To celebrate the launch of two new websites, we’re running a giveaway that includes over $2700 in prizes. Read more about it at the end of the post.
Over the eight months running Davey & Krista we’ve had the opportunity to work with so many talented creatives to help them build their brands. For some this meant creating websites and logos, and for others it meant clarifying the direction of their business through coaching.
Through our work we were able to get to a point where we started to zero-in on the things we loved to do, the areas we felt like we offered the most value, and where we wanted to take the business. The work we’ve done also allowed us to clarify our message.
We’re here to help people build their brands.
While redesigning our website, we wanted to make sure we highlighted the ways we help people and businesses do that. You may have noticed that we organized our website around three paths: Building a website, expanding your audience, and clarifying your direction. Each of the resources we create ultimately aligns with one of those categories.
Building Your Website & Brand
Much of the information in this section will be familiar to those who know us because Krista has been building and launching websites and brands for a long time. But we’ve organized it a way that makes it easier (we hope) to see where we can help, whether it’s just a logo or a full brand design.
We’ve also integrated The Palm Shop, our Showit website template shop, with Davey & Krista. We originally created a separate website for The Palm Shop for a few reasons, but primarily because we wanted to highlight the Showit platform (since, you know, we were selling Showit themes). Because we’ve had such a great experience with Showit (and love the heart behind the business), we decided to launch our new websites using that platform. It made sense to move The Palm Shop within Davey & Krista.
We hope that combining the two sites will provide clarity in certain areas. For instance, one of the most frequently asked questions we get about The Palm Shop is whether we can be hired to customize a template (the answer is YES).
You’ll notice a new free resource for those looking to build a website: our Build & Launch Your Website in 14 Days challenge. This was primarily created to help people using a Showit theme to launch their website. Having a beautifully designed website is no longer a barrier to entry for business. And we want to show people how easy it is to get their website up and running. (We even offer a FREE Showit website theme to use if they aren’t quite ready for a premium theme.)
Expanding Your Reach
We’ve had a lot of great opportunities over the last few years, and we’ve learned a lot along the way—especially about expanding your reach. Something we didn’t feel we did well on our last website is give people specific ways they can grow their audience. We set out to correct this on our new website, and we’re excited about the resources we’ve created.
Some of this hasn’t been finished in time with for our launch, but should be ready within in a week. For now that path will temporarily link to the popular 5 Day SEO Challenge (this is also in the process of getting a facelift).
Clarifying Direction
This, perhaps, is one of the biggest elements we want to highlight on our new website: We offer coaching. We only offered it selectively in the beginning because we were busy with a number of big projects. But we’ve found we have really enjoyed working closely with creatives helping them navigate the next steps of their business.
So we’re opening up more coaching spots per quarter. We’ve found coaching is most effective when it takes place over at least three months and we’re only working with a select number of clients per quarter. This gives us time to really dig into some stuff instead of just always talking surface level.
We also wanted to create resources for people who are looking for some clarity, but might not be ready to commit to coaching. These resources will be available in the next week, and I’m excited for what we’re putting together.
Use our contact form if you’re interested in getting more information about coaching.
