Last year we worked with Elizabeth Friske to launch her print shop on Shopify. Elizabeth is a fellow coastal-lover and we were so excited when she came to us for a brand refresh + help customizing our St. Simons template. Although her new brand feels more refined, it still showcases her love of salty air and beachside weddings. We created simple, handdrawn waves for her logo and added coastal touches throughout the site. We’re so excited to share how it turned out!

Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get started in photography?
I’m a Wedding & Anniversary photographer based in Virginia Beach, serving couples throughout Hampton Roads, the Outer Banks (OBX) and beyond. I am passionate about a life lived near the sea, love that never ends, and building relationships with my clients to and long after their biggest days. A lifetime of love isn’t always calm waters, but it’s always worth the ride. When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me collecting coastal decor, drinking an orange crush with my cute firefighter husband, or chasing our dog, Bodie, across the beach.
I got into photography when I was new into my corporate career almost eight years ago. My husband who has a million hobbies told me I needed a creative hobby of my own. I picked up a camera and never thought it would turn into a business that fuels my passion. Through the years, my love for marriage and my work has grown immensely. Because of my own marriage, I gain inspiration in capturing other’s love stories.
Why did you decide to redesign your website?
I chose to redesign my website because I have grown so much into my brand that it felt like it needed refreshing. A clean, sophisticated, and coastal look that spoke to my ocean minded soul while talking directly to my ideal client. I knew it was time as I am stepping more into my own with my business and knew a fresh site and brand would be perfect to showcase the content I love sharing. Honestly, I have just grown up since my last branding was done. My work and style has changed drastically and this clean site showcases my work in such a clean way while incorporating my love for the sea.
What is your favorite part of your new site?
I love how the site showcases my coastal side while focusing on my wedding work. My coastal Soul of the Sea Print Shop is more prominent than with my old site and there is a focus on my wedding couples in specific galleries. This allows potential clients to see a peak into what they can expect to receive from me. The white space and simple layout not only allows for my images to be the focus, but for the sweet words from my couples and messaging to my ideal client to truly make an impact.
Tell us about your ideal client:
An EFP couple is joyful, spirited, appreciative and the adventurous type. They have an appreciation for the ocean and believe life is lived better by the sea. They have classic yet modern style and they believe their marriage is more important than their wedding day. They enjoy a good day at the beach as the sun fades in the sky yet love to grab local eats around town and beyond. They are travel bugs yet love to be at home with their pets. They value family and friendships and strive to make as much time for their people as possible. They are down to earth and just want to have the best time at their wedding celebrating their love with their very best people.
Is there anything else you think people considering re-designing their website should know?
Start early and trust in the process. It will take longer than you anticipate because there are so many moving parts. Have a team that works with you and encourages you a long the way. There are so many things that go into being a business owner and it is impossible to be good at it all. Trust your strengths and source your weaknesses. Have a strategy early on on what you want to accomplish so you have a clear vision for your site and key goals. Have fun with it and allow it develop. It isn’t an overnight project and I promise it will turn out better with patience than you could have ever dreamed. Thank you Krista for making it such an easy process and for portraying my brand so effortlessly.
