The Details

From the moment we began working with Baltimore portrait photographer Maria Ortiz, it was evident she is passionate about putting her family and her clients first.

The way she described the vision for her business and rebrand was so eloquent: “My brand is an evocative & emotional brand. It is very personable and creates photographs with a nostalgic and timeless feel. It is a brand that makes the experience fun and unforgettable for the individual(s) being photographed. It is a brand that works with intention, that goes above and beyond and anticipates the needs of the client. It is a brand that cares deeply for its clients and wants their photo session to be an entire experience from the moment they contact me. It is a brand that from the moment someone contacts them, they will be showered with love and kind words.”⁣

Maria also described herself as “nostalgic at heart and a dreamer.” We channeled her passion and her love of dreaming into the design through whimsical floral elements, a fun script and a muted but bold color scheme. ⁣ 

The abstract blooms remind her of the mountains of Equador, where she was born. We drew on this earthy, organic tone when developing her brand concepts and we absolutely love all the details!

I have to say that not only is Krista from Davey & Krista one of the most talented brand designers on the planet, she is most definitely one of the most patient people in the universe (add to that, she’s got one of the cutest insta stories babies)!
