Last week, I had the opportunity to speak in front of nearly 100 other creatives at Creative at Heart in Roanoke, Virginia. Even though I’m a speaker and even though this is the second conference we’ve done this year, I’m always in awe of everything I take away from each conference. I had already heard several of the speakers but I still managed to fill a notebook with ideas and inspiration. Not just from the other speakers, but from the attendees as well.
Natalie is a social media guru and she always does such an incredible job encouraging others to be creative, genuine and consistent. Lauren Hooker of Elle and Company writes some of the best blog posts in the industry and I loved learning about how content marketing has grown her business.
Alexandra of Heart Love Always must be one of the most organized people I know and her strategy for for keeping a clean, organized inbox is going to save me so much time! Katelyn James has such an incredible heart and she left all of us feeling inspired to build better communities – not only within our own businesses, but also with each other.
Bonnie is an amazing designer (and total sweetheart!) and she encouraged attendees to create brands that are authentic and add value to their client’s lives. Not only did Abby Grace present in a fun, tulle skirt, she also shared the most heartfelt talk about having vision for your business.
I absolutely loved Jessica’s talk about finding your niche and I’m SO impressed with her watercolor skills! Mary Marantz shared about creating loyalty beyond reason through client experience and I love the idea that the only surprises for a client should be good ones.
And Kat of Dear Sweetheart Events had us all in tears and feeling encouraged to dream big. I’ve shared about her before on the site and I truly can’t say enough about Kat’s talent and her heart for this industry.
Creative at Heart is filled with sweet treats, beautiful decor and pj parties, but it’s also filled with joy, inspiration and the most incredible community of women. I heard so many amazing stories from attendees and it’s such an honor to be a part of this creative movement. Just knowing that we’re all in this together inspires me to continue to work hard, stay humble and love others well.
The next Creative at Heart will be taking place in CHARLESTON from November 15-16!
PS – I have to thank Maddie Short for driving Natalie and I down after our weddings on Saturday night. We literally wouldn’t have made it to the conference without her!
