This is why we’ve continued our series on Modern Creatives We Admire. 

It’s inspiring to meet other individuals who are passionately learning and making beauty. 

As you bring creatives into your circle who are encouraging, genuine, and pursuing their design journey, you will find yourself fuelled to grow, too! 

When we founded the Rising Tide Society years ago, we started the hashtag on Instagram #communityovercompetition. It suggests that talented artists encouraging one another is far more valuable than artists pursuing their craft in competitive isolation. 

Years later, Davey and I are still being inspired and encouraged by the creatives around us. Owning your own business doesn’t have to be isolating. 

In fact, we believe it shouldn’t be.

Emily Lex 

Emily Lex is a watercolor artist and author who creates the loveliest paper goods and gifts. If you’re looking for a sweet hobby this autumn, we encourage you to try one of her watercolor workbooks. Her art is delightful.

Chelsea McShane 

Chelsea McShane is a contemporary artist in Arkansas. She has the sweetest dog acrylic ornaments for countless breeds, from Bernese mountain dogs to cockapoos. We also love her paintings of Biblical scenes. 

Corrin Jasinski

Corrin Jasinski is a talented wedding photographer who captures timeless, joy-filled images in the Virginia and DC areas.  You may recall our podcast episode with her a few years ago: How to Use Instagram Reels to Market Your Business.

Michelle Boyd

Michelle Boyd is a lovely artist who creates landscape and floral paintings for the home. Her color palettes are often vibrant and bring a cheerfulness to our feed! 

Sarah Klongerbo

Sarah Klongerbo of Quotable Copy will change how you see website copy on your designs. She is talented and provides so many wonderful resources for creatives who want to write engaging, quotable, high-converting copy. We’ve personally hired her several times and she always does an incredible job.

Julia Woods is a couples coach who helps spouses cultivate life-giving marriages. Many of our friends have attended her retreats and have greatly benefited from them. We admire her wisdom and have found her podcast and perspective helpful.

James Clear is a speaker and the author of Atomic Habits. He also writes a wisdom-packed newsletter that we always enjoy receiving.  

Shay Cochrane

Shay Cochrane is the founder of Élevae Visuals and cohost of the Family Goals Podcast. You may recognize her from one of our recent podcast episodes, Image Curation, where she shares how to curate elevated stock visuals for your online presence. 

Mike Pacchione

Mike Pacchione is a talented speech coach and a dear friend. He has worked with the best of the best, including Amy Porterfield, James Clear, Laura Belgray, and more. We admire his humility, talent, and heart to serve others. It was a privilege to design Mike’s website. 

Tabitha Paige

Tabitha Paige is an author, illustrator, and certified speech-language pathologist. We adore her children’s books and love gifting Our Little Library Book Set to friends and family. 

Katharina Puritscher

Katharina Puritscher is a talented artist and illustrator in Germany. She paints the most elegant pieces and often captures floral scenes. We love looking through her detailed prints for inspiration. 

Daniel Sheer

Daniel Shear is the co-founder of Season’s Yield, a bakery here in the Shenandoah Valley, and Davey’s cousin. He and Davey go running often and discuss business trends together. You may recall our episode with Daniel, Building a Community Around Your Business.

Anna Núñez

Anna Núñez is a lovely artist in Florida. Her work is calming and soft–a peaceful addition to every room. One of our favorite pieces is her Be Still and Know heirloom print.
