How to Use the Shopify Buy Button To Sell Products on Your Showit Site

Build Your Website & Brand

filed in

Want to sell your products on Showit, but worried it doesn’t support e-commerce?

You’re not alone—and good news: you can absolutely turn your Showit site into a beautiful online store (without switching platforms or adding “learn code” to your to-do list).

By pairing Showit’s design freedom with the Shopify Buy Button, you can create a seamless Showit ecommerce experience for everything from digital downloads and website templates to merch—and even that lacrosse team fundraiser (ahem, speaking for a friend).

Whether you’re a designer, photographer, or creative entrepreneur testing the ecommerce waters, this guide will help you set up your shop and make that first sale feel easy.

Why Pair Shopify with Showit for eCommerce?

Showit (get 30 free days of Showit!) isn’t built for ecommerce out of the box, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sell products on it.

If you’ve ever tried using a traditional e-commerce platform like Shopify or WooCommerce, you know they come with a lot of structure (and sometimes a lot of design limitations). Enter the Shopify Buy Button.

Instead of building your entire shop on Shopify, you can keep your beautifully branded site on Showit and just use Shopify to handle the checkout side.

The Showit + Shopify Buy Button combo works well if you:

  • Have just a few products to sell (under 50 is a good rule of thumb)
  • Want total control over how everything looks
  • Offer digital downloads, templates, or made-to-order items
  • Don’t want to mess with a full Shopify theme
  • Want to start selling without complicated tech

It’s a super simple way to add Showit ecommerce to your site without having to overhaul your entire website or business. Here’s how.

Step 1: Set Up Your Shopify Account

First, head over to Shopify and create a basic account. You’ll only need the Lite plan ($5/month) to access the Buy Button feature. It’s the most affordable way to get started.

Once you’re in, create your first product and add:

  • A clear title
  • A short description
  • Pricing
  • Product photos

If your product comes in different sizes, colors, or styles, you can set those up as variants. And if you’re selling something that’s made-to-order, you can skip inventory tracking and keep things simple.

Step 2: Generate Your Buy Button

Next, install the free Buy Button app from Shopify’s app store. Choose the product you want to create a button for, then customize the look—fonts, layout, button color, etc. Shopify will generate an HTML embed code based on your selections. Copy the code.

Pro Tip: Link your button directly to the cart page instead of a product page for a smoother checkout flow (and a better brand match).

Step 3: Embed the Code in Showit

Open your Showit site and navigate to the page where you want your product to be displayed.

  • Click on the “Embed Code” option under the Advanced tab
  • Paste your Shopify Buy Button code

From there, you can design the page however you like—add a product title, description, imagery, even a testimonial or two. Use Showit to style the experience, and let Shopify handle the checkout.

Think of it like this: Showit is your storefront window. Shopify is the cashier behind the counter.

Step 4: Organize Your Shop Page

To keep everything clean and easy to navigate, create a main “Shop” page on your Showit site. This page can link out to individual product pages, grouped by type or categories that make sense for your business.

For a school fundraiser we helped with, we created separate pages for hats, shirts, and hoodies—each with color and size options built in.

This setup gives each product room to shine and keeps your shop super organized.

Step 5: Test and Publish

Before you hit ‘Publish,’ give everything a good walkthrough:

  • Click through each product page
  • Test the “Add to Cart” button
  • Make sure everything works on mobile
  • Go through the checkout process to test what your customers will see

Once it all feels good? Go ahead and hit that Publish button and share your new shop with the world!

Ready to Launch Your Showit Shop?

Selling on Showit doesn’t have to be complicated. With the Shopify Buy Button, you can create a seamless shopping experience that looks just as good as the rest of your site.

Your shop can be up and running sooner than you think. Let’s make it happen.

    Meet Davey & Krista

We've spent 15+ years designing brands and websites for creative businesses — and paying close attention to what actually works.

Every template we've built is informed by real client projects, real conversion data, and a deep understanding of what makes someone go from browsing to booking. We don't just design for beautiful. We design for what happens after someone lands on your page.

That's why our templates don't just come with files. They come with the guidance to use them — writing prompts, launch checklists, and systems that take you from purchase to published.

We also teach. Our designer courses are where we train the next generation of designers, and DesignEdit is our newsletter for working creatives who want to stay ahead of AI. All of it comes from the same place: the belief that good design should make your business feel lighter, not harder.
