Expand Your Reach

Interview with Corrin Jasinski

"A hook is the beginning portion of your video. It is the first 1-3 seconds on any video is what will allow that viewer to realize that video is for them or not. What's going to get them to keep watching or not? So you only have 3 seconds. Really, I wouldn't even give it more than that. What you're trying to do is let someone know whether or not they should continue."

Instagram Reels expert, Corrin Jasinski, joins me on the podcast today to discuss how to get started with Instagram Reels. Corrin grew her following from about 3,600 to about 60,000 using Instagram Reels and it’s one of the primary ways she markets her photography business.

Corrin shares her process for creating content and answers questions like “How often she shares to Instagram?” and what she uses to edit her videos. She even provides examples of how reels can work for different kinds of businesses. One thing I appreciate about Corrin’s story, is that although creating short form video content isn’t something that came naturally to her, she figured out a style she was comfortable with and made it work for her.

If you’re new to Instagram Reels, this is a great place to start, and even if you have some experience with Reels, you’re bound to walk away from this episode with some new ideas.

Unrelated, we are hosting a FREE 5-day email marketing challenge that will walk you through getting started with email marketing. Sign up at https://daveyandkrista.com/email-marketing/. That will begin on June 5th. But even if you miss it, check out that page for more email marketing resources.

    Meet Davey & Krista

We've spent 15+ years designing brands and websites for creative businesses — and paying close attention to what actually works.

Every template we've built is informed by real client projects, real conversion data, and a deep understanding of what makes someone go from browsing to booking. We don't just design for beautiful. We design for what happens after someone lands on your page.

That's why our templates don't just come with files. They come with the guidance to use them — writing prompts, launch checklists, and systems that take you from purchase to published.

We also teach. Our designer courses are where we train the next generation of designers, and DesignEdit is our newsletter for working creatives who want to stay ahead of AI. All of it comes from the same place: the belief that good design should make your business feel lighter, not harder.
