BTB Episode 35: Finding Your Voice

Sweet Root Village

“Nobody’s life is perfect behind the scenes. We use our Instagram feed for those curated, beautiful images. But everyone likes to see behind the scenes—it makes those perfect things and people and businesses seems a little more attainable…”

Today’s guests are Lauren and Rachel, the founders of Sweet Root Village, an event floral design company in the Washington D.C. area.

Lauren and Rachel chat with me about starting Sweet Root Village, and their journey from an ‘all-in-one’ event shop to specializing in high-end floral event design. Their story is such a good lesson in narrowing one’s focus, and intentionally growing a business with the resources you have.

In addition to that we talk about how to engage an audience with Instagram stories. Everyone I chatted with that is familiar with Sweet Root Village has brought up their Instagram stories, so dive into how they create engaging stories and use that platform to grow their business.

More about Sweet Root Village:
Sweet Root Village was started by Lauren and Rachel, ladies with a passion for life and people. Going on their 9th year in business, Lauren and Rachel and their growing team have settled into a sweet production warehouse space in Alexandria, Virginia where all the magic happens!
Their business has changed and adapted over the years, but their love of small business has flourished, and their love of flowers has never faltered!
