A Brand-New Business, A Beautiful New Website
Launching a wedding and event planning business is no small feat—but for Shelby Kenney, founder of SK Events & Design, it was a lifelong dream finally realized. Based in Southern California, Shelby brings her passion for gathering people, her eye for detail, and her calm, capable presence to every celebration she plans.
From intimate weddings to corporate events and stylish showers, SK Events & Design delivers attainable luxury that’s both Instagram-worthy and unforgettable. When it came time to build her online home, Shelby knew she needed a website that felt like her brand: polished, sophisticated, and joyful.
With help from a Davey & Krista Showit template, she launched a site that does more than look good—it invites the right clients in, highlights her stunning portfolio, and sets the stage for SK Events & Design’s growth.
In this post, Shelby shares:
- Why she launched her website with a Davey & Krista template
- Her favorite parts of the design (spoiler: the blog!)
- How she made her website reflect the heart of her brand
- What she’s looking forward to as her business grows

Starting Strong with a Strategic Online Presence
Shelby launched SK Events & Design in April 2024, after years of dreaming and planning.
“It has been a goal of mine to open my own event planning company for as long as I can remember. I come from a big family and love bringing people together.”
From day one, she knew her brand needed a digital home that reflected her personality, professionalism, and unique aesthetic. Her solution? A Showit template that made building a beautiful site easier—and more strategic.
“Once I saw the Davey & Krista templates, it was easier to visualize what I wanted in a website and how that would come together.”
A Blog She Never Knew She Needed (And Now Loves)
While Shelby loved designing her portfolio page to spotlight the beautiful events she’s produced, she admits her blog has surprised her the most.
“I was so hesitant to include a blog at first. After talking to the Davey & Krista team, they explained why it was so important—and now I love it!”
The blog has become a place to tell the stories behind her events, share tips, and connect more deeply with her audience. It’s also a key piece of SEO strategy, helping SK Events & Design show up in search results and attract new clients in the SoCal area and beyond.
What Sets SK Events & Design Apart
At SK Events & Design, planning isn’t just about checklists and timelines—it’s about creating experiences that leave lasting impressions.
What makes Shelby’s process unique?
- A blend of logistics and design expertise
- Use of Aisle Planner to streamline communication and planning
- Calm, solution-oriented presence in high-pressure moments
- A brand experience that feels like talking to your most trusted friend
Built to Grow: What’s Next for SK Events & Design
While her business is still new, Shelby’s vision is clear: create unforgettable events with ease, intention, and style—and grow a brand known for dependability and luxury.
She’s already attracting her ideal clients: style-savvy women in their late 20s and 30s who love brunch, artful moments, and effortless sophistication.
“The goal is to build a brand that people associate with dependability, luxury, and moments that last a lifetime.”
With a strong website foundation, Shelby is set to grow with purpose—and we’re cheering her on every step of the way.
