We mixed classic fonts with elegant scripts and editorial inspired layouts to create a site that is truly Liz!

Regardless of what you do, there are probably a few ways you can earn some passive income through creating an online shop. Even if it’s just a small side hustle, a few extra dollars each month can add up. And who knows, maybe it will turn into something bigger! But you’ll never know until you give it a shot.

The winter time is a good opportunity for many to take some time to review and update their website. The question, though, is where to begin! There’s a lot that goes into a website and it can be an overwhelming project. This is why we’ve created an easy, approachable DIY website review.

We had the opportunity to meet with a few creatives who wanted us to review their websites while we were at the Showit United Conference. Since we were not able to meet with everyone, we came up with 5 questions for a 5-minute website review anyone can complete.

The past few months have been full of change. It began with the decision to relaunch The Palm Shop, which Krista initially started to feature her design work. But as we revisited the site, we found that we were making more and more changes so that it reflected our “current” brand (at least how we saw it at the time). It became increasingly apparent that a simple revision wasn’t going to cut it. Too much had changed over the last two years.

WordPress.org is an open-source content management system (CMS). It’s flexible, easy-to-use, and if you have a website, there’s a good chance you’re using WordPress.

With the launch of this new site, we figured it was about time we designed new business cards & note cards for ourselves. Our other cards are about four years old and while we still love the design, they point people to our photography site. We knew we wanted thick cards that make an impression, but we didn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on letterpress cards.

Bloggers, especially photographers, want to blog the highest quality version of their work. But those large images are a beast to load. Slow load times increase the likelihood a visitor clicks “back” which results in a “bounce.”

As I’ve explored branding with our clients, I’ve noticed that a few creatives who are excellent at branding have found ways to add personalization to their brands without slapping their logo on mugs, pens, totes and everything else that paper supply companies will try to tell you. I’m not the only one who gets free pens with my business name in the mail, right?

There’s a reason that over 25% of content management sites on the internet are built using WordPress. It’s open-source, robust, and relatively easy-to-use.
And perhaps best of all, thousands of plugins have been created for WordPress. Whether you’re trying to collect emails, keep people on your site longer, or create search-engine friendly posts, there’s a plugin for it!

I can’t believe I’m sharing these with y’all, but thought it would be fun to kick off the launch of this new site by taking a look back at the evolution of my main website – Kristaajones.com. Honestly I had suppressed these designs deep into my subconscious. It was a terrifying, yet fun experience to revisit my old site designs using the Wayback website–a similar experience to revisiting old middle school photos.
