1 Productivity Tool We Can't Live Without

Find Direction and Advice

filed in

To say we can’t live without it is admittedly a bit hyperbolic. But as I look at all the tools Krista and I have used since we started our business six years ago, this one has stood the test of time.

Lemme introduce you to our to-do list, TeuxDeux (pronounced “To-Do”… see what they did there?).

TeuxDeux is a clean and simple software that enables us to create To-Do Lists for the week and beyond. It has a mobile application that accompanies it so we can add items on the go.

The design and functionality is minimalistic, which is what makes it such a useful tool. On a desktop, it’s easy to see the next five days at a glance. Items can be added and moved easily by dragging it to the appropriate day. And you can even add recurring items to your list.

Task Management for Creatives TeuxDeux | via Davey & Krista

TeuxDeuxmore than any other tool we use—keeps us on track because it forces us to determine what has to be done today.

If it’s on the list for the day, it gets worked on.

There are plenty of other productivity tools out there with more bells and whistles, but it can be easy to get lost in them and, ironically, become overwhelmed. I’m looking at you, Evernote.

TeuxDeux has a 30 day free trial, and is only $3/month or $24/year if you decide to sign-up.

Great to know about this. What do you guys think of Asana? I love it as it’s simple enough that I can schedule out daily/weekly/monthly tasks w/ drag and drop-but also has the functionality of team settings.
I haven’t used Evernote, have tried Trello, but that’s it. I’m happy with Asana 🙂

  2. Oooohhh, I used TeuxDeux for YEARS, but switched to a paper planner awhile back and it just works better for my brain for this season of life. This makes we want to go back, though…

This is fantastic! I’ve been using lists, then notes in my iPhone (which transfers to my laptop and iPhone) but this has a few more bells and whistles. Thank you!!

    Meet Davey & Krista

We've spent 15+ years designing brands and websites for creative businesses — and paying close attention to what actually works.

Every template we've built is informed by real client projects, real conversion data, and a deep understanding of what makes someone go from browsing to booking. We don't just design for beautiful. We design for what happens after someone lands on your page.

That's why our templates don't just come with files. They come with the guidance to use them — writing prompts, launch checklists, and systems that take you from purchase to published.

We also teach. Our designer courses are where we train the next generation of designers, and DesignEdit is our newsletter for working creatives who want to stay ahead of AI. All of it comes from the same place: the belief that good design should make your business feel lighter, not harder.
