"A hook is the beginning portion of your video. It is the first 1-3 seconds on any video is what will allow that viewer to realize that video is for them or not. What's going to get them to keep watching or not? So you only have 3 seconds. Really, I wouldn't even give it more than that. What you're trying to do is let someone know whether or not they should continue."

Instagram Reels expert, Corrin Jasinski, joins me on the podcast today to discuss how to get started with Instagram Reels. Corrin grew her following from about 3,600 to about 60,000 using Instagram Reels and it’s one of the primary ways she markets her photography business.

Corrin shares her process for creating content and answers questions like “How often she shares to Instagram?” and what she uses to edit her videos. She even provides examples of how reels can work for different kinds of businesses. One thing I appreciate about Corrin’s story, is that although creating short form video content isn’t something that came naturally to her, she figured out a style she was comfortable with and made it work for her.
